Sheffield based engineering firm Advanced Engineering Techniques (AET) has placed an order for the ByAutonom laser from Swiss laser cutting system supplier Bystronic’s UK subsidiary.
The latest ByAutonom Laser has a degree of autonomy that includes collision detection, lens-cassette changer, nozzle changer, and automatic nozzle alignment. According to Bystronic, this reduces non-productive time and increases process reliability; fewer operator interventions are required freeing up time to concentrate on planning and control. Previously AET had been the first company to order a Bystar 6kW laser system from Bystronic UK when it opened its facility in Coventry in 2010. AET has had a business relationship with Nystronic since the 1990s.
