Swedish diode-pumped solid-state laser manufacturer Cobolt has expanded its clean-room production facilities by 40 per cent and invested in new manufacturing and test equipment.
All Cobolt lasers are built and sealed in clean-room environments with the help of an ISO9001-certified quality management system. Increasing demand for its ultraviolet, visible and near infrared laser products, which are designed for analytical instrumentation, led to the decision to expand production capacity.
Cobolt chief executive officer Hakan Karlsson said: ‘The recent investments in our production facility will allow us to grow our production capacity to meet this demand. It is very exciting to see how our collaborations with researchers and system integrators all over the world can contribute to pushing the boundaries for laser-based analytical instrumentation technologies.’
Cobolt’s laser products are for standalone use or OEM integration in equipment for fluorescence analysis, Raman spectroscopy, interferometry and range finding.
