Coherent has acquired the businesses of Innolight Innovative Laser, Systemtechnik and Midaz Lasers, which will provide core technology building blocks for sub-nanosecond pulsed lasers for micro-electronics manufacturing.
Innolight is a manufacturer of low power, short pulse lasers for industrial applications like silicon processing, and continuous wave lasers used in scientific applications such as atom trapping. Midaz’s patented technology enables amplifiers to be incorporated in a broad range of laser products delivering power scaling. The combination of Innolight’s semiconductor-based architecture with Midaz amplifiers is expected to deliver a broad range of sub-nanosecond infrared, green and ultraviolet laser sources.

Founded in 1966, Coherent provides photonics based solutions to the commercial and scientific research markets.
