CVI Melles Griot has acquired the Coherent Imaging Optics subsidiary from Coherent. In announcing the consummation of the deal, Stuart Schoenmann, chief executive officer of CVI Melles Griot, stated: ‘This acquisition increases our infrared optics manufacturing capacity, brings us unique coating technologies, and further strengthens our European manufacturing presence.’
The new acquisition signals CVI Melles Griot’s focus on expanding its product line. The company hopes the move will help it to reach the defence market. The Coherent Imaging Optics site will continue to be run by Robin Henderson throughout the integration
