The UK Consortium for Photonics and Optics has appointed Alastair Wilson as director for the recently formed Photonics Knowledge Transfer Network.
Wilson took up this appointment on 4 December, and commented: ‘I am very thrilled and excited by the opportunity to lead the Photonics KTN and to ensure it enables the UK photonics industry to be the most competitive and innovative in the world.’
Wilson has been a leading figure in UK photonics for many years, and while at Scottish Enterprise was instrumental in the creation a range of initiatives to foster the development of the photonics industry.
