Excelitas Technologies has acquired Lumen Dynamics, a technology developer and volume manufacturer of lamp and LED-based UV curing and fluorescence illumination systems. This follows Excelitas's acquisition of Qioptiq last month.
Headquartered in Ontario, Canada and founded in 1984, Lumen Dynamics develops UV system technology while contributing towards environmental sustainability. It offers products under OmniCure and X-Cite brands. The combined companies will deliver an expanded range of customised fibre optic UV and LED solutions and lighting products for OEMs in electronics/optoelectronics, digital printing, medical device, and life science applications.
Lumen Dynamics marks the fourth acquisition consummated by Excelitas since its formation in late 2010. Along with the acquisition of Qioptiq, Excelitas acquired high-voltage power supplier Kaiser Systems and lamp-manufacturer Carsan Engineering in 2012.
