Flir Systems has announced $348.5 million revenue for the first quarter of 2012, ending 31 March.
Revenue from the company's commercial systems division increased 4 per cent from the first quarter of 2011, to $202.3 million. Within the commercial systems division, revenue from the thermal vision and measurement segment was $155.7 million, an increase of 7 per cent over the first quarter results last year.
Earl Lewis, president and CEO of Flir, said: ‘We continue to expect improved results as we go through the year. It is clearly our task to improve in the future, and we believe these efforts will show in the second half of 2012.’
The company's backlog of firm orders for delivery within the next twelve months is about $457 million as of 31 March, an increase of $2 million during the first quarter. The backlog in the commercial systems division was $145 million, which was up $4 million, again during the first quarter.
