Increasing demand for its laser diodes, diode arrays, and other products has led Frankfurt Laser Company to expand its operations by opening an office in San Jose, California. The company has appointed Kevin Wells to be its North America sales manager to coordinate its efforts in the USA and to assist customers in choosing the right product for their requirements. Frankfurt Laser Company has proudly served the laser community in Europe and worldwide for 15 years through its network of European and international sales representatives. Now, increasing demand has led the company to open the office in San Jose, California, to provide dedicated sales support to its American partners.
Dr Vsevolod Mazo, founder and chief executive of Frankfurt Laser Company, said: 'The company is delighted to have been able to appoint someone of Kevin Wells’ status and experience to the vital post of North America sales manager. Kevin has spent more than 20 years in the photonics industry and has worked in leading positions for companies engaged in development, production, and distribution of laser diodes and laser diode modules, including Blue Sky Research (USA), Ayase (Japan), and Opnext (USA).'
As part of the establishment of Ayase, a Japanese company expanding into the American market, Wells was instrumental in the initial marketing and selling of Arima Opto Corporation's laser diodes into the American market. During this time he was also heavily involved in patent research and trade-marked 'APC Laser Diode' on behalf of Arima. During his career, Wells has become well acquainted with US regulations governing trade in sensitive high-tech equipment, such as the ITAR regulations and has held responsibility for DSP-5 license preparation and application.
