The Qioptiq Group has announced that it has appointed Dr Ian Alcock as managing director of its subsidiary Point Source, a developer of flexible laser technology for precision optical instrumentation.
Dr Alcock has been with Point Source since 1997, most recently in the role of general manager. Point Source is based in Southampton, UK, where it employs 70 people in its research and development, manufacturing and test facility. it was acquired by Qioptiq in March 2008.
Dr Alcock said: 'I relish the chance to capitalise on the many opportunities being part of the Qioptiq Group presents.
