Semiconductor laser developer Intense has appointed Dr Berthold Schmidt as VP of global product and market development.
Schmidt brings a wealth of in-depth technical and commercial knowledge to Intense. Over the last 10 years he held senior management positions at JDS Uniphase and Nortel Networks and joins Intense from Bookham (Switzerland), where he was on the executive board.
Schmidt received his PhD from the Technical University at Munich, Germany and an MSc degree from the State University of New York. He also holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration from GSBA in Switzerland.
