Labsphere has been acquired by English sensor technology group Halma to join its global group of photonics businesses, which includes Ocean Optics and Mikropack.
Labsphere specialises in light testing and measurement, and optical coatings. Its products also include spectroscopy accessories and uniform light sources for imaging device calibration.
Halma holds almost 50 worldwide subsidiaries that develop and manufacture products for industrial health and safety, as well as analysis sensors. Its photonics sector has provided products for applications that vary from cancer detection to theatre lighting filters.
