German-based photonics company Laser Components has acquired the remaining shares of Optophotonics S.A, to strengthen its market position in France. The company will now be known as Laser Components S.A.S.
The acquisition is accompanied by a move into a larger facility in the south of Paris. The changes will be supervised by Christian Merry, the company’s newly-appointed general manager.
'I look forward to expanding our business here in France,' he said. 'I see a lot of potential for growth, especially for our high-power laser optics and laser modules as well as our range of pulsed lasers and avalanche photodiodes.'
