Laser manufacturer Laser Operations has appointed Dr Vittorio Fossati-Bellani as its new chief executive officer and Robert Miller as its senior director of manufacturing.
Fossati-Bellani, who has served as the company’s chief marketing officer since the beginning of this year, will commence his new duties immediately. Before joining Laser Operations, Fossati-Bellani spent 27 years at Coherent, where he held, among others, the positions of semiconductor group president and chief marketing officer. Miller, meanwhile, has held similar manufacturing director positions at Melles-Griot, Advanced Bionics, and Coherent.
Motti Lichtenstein, chairman of the board of both Laser Operations and its holding company, Laser Holding said of Fossati-Bellani’s appointment: ‘We are fortunate to have tapped Vittorio to take the helm of Laser Operations at this time. Vittorio’s experience and stature in the industry will serve us very well as we deal with the opportunities and challenges in this new era of rapid growth for the company.’
After leaving Coherent in 2006, Fossati-Bellani has been in various executive positions at Dilas and Pyrophotonics, as well as managing his own consulting business. Taking up his new post as Laser Operation’s CEO, Fossati-Bellani commented on Miller’s appointment: ‘I have had the privilege of working with Bob at Coherent and I know that he is a team player, a problem solver and a motivator.’
