Short-pulsed fibre laser source manufacturer Mobius Photonics has promoted Mark Byer to the position of chief operating officer and Manuel Leonardo is now its chief technology officer.
Byer is a Mobius Photonics co-founder. He is one of the chief architects behind Mobius' laser technologies. Prior to co-founding Mobius he held senior design engineer positions at Novawave Technologies and at Lightwave Electronics. Leonardo is another Mobius co-founder and chief architect of Mobius’ laser technologies. He was vice president of technology before his promotion to CTO. Leonardo is an expert in developing and building high-peak-power laser systems with highly efficient nonlinear conversion. He has more than 10 years of experience in developing ultraviolet laser systems.
‘Congratulations to Byer and Leonardo on their promotions,’ said Kiyomi Monro, Mobius Photonics' chief executive officer. ‘Both have demonstrated exceptional technical and managerial skills and have risen to the occasion when confronted with challenges.’
Founded in 2005, Mobius Photonics’ fibre-based laser sources are used for applications ranging from material processing for solar cell manufacturing, to semiconductor fabrication and assembly, and flat panel display manufacturing and scientific uses such as super-resolution microscopy.
