Newport has announced that today it has completed its acquisition of Ophir Optronics, an Israeli developer and manufacturer of photonics instrumentation and 3D non-contact measurement systems.
All of the required regulatory approvals had been received paving the way for today’s acquisition. Ophir, which has six manufacturing facilities around the world, three in Israel and three in the USA developing and manufacturing electro-optic systems, is to be merged with a subsidiary of photonics technology specialist Newport.
