Ocean Optics has formed a dedicated OEM engineering group to group provide expert support to optimise and expedite integrating optical components in systems of both new and established OEM customers. These services are extended to all OEMs, whether they contract directly with Ocean Optics, or purchase through local distribution channels.
The OEM team brings together expertise across disciplines, including optical expertise; electrical engineering; mechanical engineering; and software development. The company's early involvement and vertically integrated product line enables the OEM team to offer a wide range of solutions, from components such as custom fibres and light sources, to spectrometers and complete sub-systems. This has proven very time- and cost-effective for OEMs requiring a fast track solution.
To support this move, Ocean Optics has launched www.oceanoem.com, a new website dedicated to the needs of its OEM customers. The new site offers product, application and engineering information geared specifically to the makers of analytical equipment requiring optical and oxygen sensing components.
Customers can browse only the products and content relevant to their OEM mechanical, software, optical, or electronic integration needs. The site's resource section provides manuals, datasheets, engineering drawings, and educational articles.
'Our modular product design and engineering expertise have enabled us to develop more than 130,000 unique customer solutions,' explained Bob Kearton, director of the OEM Business Unit. 'With the launch of this website, we convey the real value and solutions driven approach offered to OEM accounts.'
