This week at the Laser World of Photonics event in Munich, Ocean Optics and Rofin-Sinar UK announced rebrands in a bid to better reflect their companies and product offerings.
Ocean Optics is now Ocean Insight, to represent its evolution from one of many suppliers of spectroscopy products to a company that offers an extended range of optical sensing solutions as well as application consultancy, custom system design, and manufacturing expertise. 'From business or research challenges through to solutions we can help provide greater understanding and actionable insights through product and people,' Ocean Insight announced in a statement.
Also this week, Rofin-Sinar UK has rebranded as Luxinar, marking a new chapter in the company’s 20-year history. The move, which took effect from 25 June, will allow the company to further strengthen its portfolio of sealed CO2 lasers and new femtosecond lasers, as well as maintain the company’s growth. Continuing to operate from its purpose-built manufacturing facility in Kingston upon Hull, UK, Luxinar employs more than 180 people – both in the UK and overseas, with operations in China, South Korea, Germany, Italy and the USA.
'This is a really exciting time for our company as we move into our next chapter, building on our proud heritage to drive further innovation in the laser industry as a proudly independent business,' said managing director, Klaus Leitner.
Both companies have said that nothing will change for customers.
