Laser processing tool provider OpTek Systems has confirmed plans to add 8,000 square feet of temperature controlled production and laboratory space to its Abingdon, UK facility.
The 20,000 sqft space will include semi-clean room additions to accommodate OpTek’s growth in precision laser processing services and equipment fabrication. This follows four years of growth, which has seen the company expand into bigger premises in North America and to win the 2011 Queen’s Award for International Trade.
Graham Rutterford, Production Manager, said: ‘Together with the recent ISO 9000 Certification, this new high-quality environment will allow OpTek to continue to develop its services and responsiveness to the widening customer base in Europe, North America and Asia.’
More than 75 per cent of OpTek’s business is exported, with major markets being the USA and China.
