From the OC Oerlikon business unit Optics, an autonomous company has emerged: Optics Balzers.
Local private investors have committed themselves financially to the new enterprise together with the company's management team. Optics Balzers will further expand its activities in existing and new markets with its own sales organisation as a result.
Since 1 January 2009, the Balzers-based optical coating business has been separated from OC Oerlikon. This has produced Optics Balzers with headquarters in Balzers, Liechtenstein.
Optics Balzers is a mid-sized company with 150 employees that will manufacture customised optical thin-film components and subassemblies and run its sales team. The company also plans to expand its sales department in order to further intensify its dialogue with customers and to enter new markets.
