Optics Balzers has reported a successful fiscal year, with a growth in total sales revenue of 25 per cent. An important contribution to this success was made by the company’s German subsidiary Optics Balzers Jena. In 2010, the 30-member team in Jena boosted its sales by 60 per cent. The company is creating three new jobs in its Jena subsidiary in order to further increase the production capacities.
Stefan Jakobs, managing director of Optics Balzers Jena, is satisfied with the subsidiary’s business: 'Our order books are full and our team is highly motivated. Our powerful global sales organisation has enabled us to gain a foothold in new markets. Moreover, the markets have recovered perceptibly, and customers have approached us with numerous new and promising projects. We are therefore now seeking committed specialists to strengthen our team.' The integration of the former company MSO Jena in Optics Balzers has given growth of this site in Jena a strong boost. The increase in sales revenue of more than 60 per cent requires Optics Balzers Jena to expand its production capacities. Therefore, a state-of-the-art coating system will be procured and the production floor will be expanded. This rapid pace of development has allowed three new jobs to be created in Jena in the course of the past year.
