Rofin has acquired Lasag from the Swatch Group. It will become part of the Rofin micro group and further extend Rofin's global customer base. Rofin’s objective with this acquisition is to emerge as the leader within the micromachining laser market, presenting the advantages of the combined expertise of the two companies to their customers and partners.
Lasag's business will continue as usual, offering the company's well-established solid-state lasers and manufacturing solutions together with their technical expertise. In the meantime Rofin will begin to promote the sales of Lasag products through their existing sales channels with a special emphasis on the medical device market.
