Trumpf has opened a research and manufacturing facility in Farmington, USA, to expand production of laser resonators.
This new Laser Innovation and Technical Excellence (LITE) Building will add nearly 8,000 sq metres to the existing campus. Of that 5,000 sq. metres will be devoted to production and over 500 sq. metres to a cleanroom for the manufacture and testing of CO2 and solid state resonators.
The LITE Building will also house a research laboratory and laser development centre and become the base for the company’s laser marking application and sales group. Approximately 120 employees will staff the new facility and the cost of the development was $29m.
