Ultrafast fibre laser manufacturer Fianium has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its development of WhiteLase super continuum fibre lasers.
Developed by Fianium in 2004, the WhiteLase super continuum fibre laser is a source of white light several million times the brightness of the sun from a compact, reliable package. Within the past eight years, the lasers have been sold into the scientific, medical and industrial sectors.
Fianium founder and chief executive officer Anatoly Grudinin said: ‘Receiving this accolade is a well deserved reward for our talented team’s hard work and dedication over the last eight years.’
Since its formation Fianium has been developing ultrafast laser technology, providing advanced, compact, efficient and maintenance free alternatives to incumbent gas and solid state lasers.
