LightPath Technologies has introduced a new family of four aspheric lenses optimised for blue wavelength laser diodes. The lenses are designed for laser diodes operating at 405nm or 488nm. These lenses are designed as the primary optics for collimating blue lasers in variety of applications including biomedical instrumentation such as flow cytometers, microscopes, and fluorescence spectroscopy equipment.
The company states that its new Blue Laser lens family builds on the success of its Laser Tool lenses, and that it will directly address the rapidly expanding biomedical and data storage markets.
