Laservision’s new eye protection caps, available from Pro-Lite, called Cap2protect use a self-adhesive instead of the typical head strap.
The adhesive part of the cap keeps it securely in position protecting the eye of the patient against incident laser radiation and stray light from all directions. Designed for the medical market, the caps are suitable for sterilisation.
Present eye caps are made in most cases out of rigid material like metal or plastics. They are typically connected together with a nose bridge and are held in position by an additional head strap.
To increase laser protection and mechanical stability the eye caps feature an additional metal insert on the face of the eye. Laservision added that due to its small size and thickness the comfort of the wearer is not affected by this at all.
