Laser Components has expanded its Count series of single photon counting modules to include the new CountBlue devices. The new devices combine the low count rates of the company's existing modules with even higher detection efficiencies at shorter wavelengths. More than 60 per cent of incoming photons can be detected at 405nm, more than 65 per cent can be detected in the green, and detection efficiency in the red is typically greater than 50 per cent. The excellent short wavelength performance makes the CountBlue suitable for fluorescence measurement and microscopy applications.
The device features the same robust design as the existing Count modules, and its optional fibre connector allows easy plug-and-play operation.
