B&W Tek has introduced its Econic series of affordable high performance CCD spectrometers, each costing less than $900. The spectrometer features a 2,000-element linear CCD array, a built-in 16-bit digitiser, and a high speed USB 2.0 interface. Econic comes with a standard 90-day warranty (upgradeable). Standard wavelength ranges are 250-950nm and 350-1050nm, with a standard slit size of 25µm (upgradeable), delivering a resolution of 0.8-10nm, depending on the configuration. External event synchronisation and external trigger input are included, as well as BWSpec software.
