Edmund Optics (EO) has released its linear translation stages with travel track distances as long as 24-inches. The stages use rack-and-pinion positioning with accuracy of 0.01-inches and are designed to allow easy integration of standard English-unit positioning equipment.
EO’s Techspec English Long Travel Linear Translation Stages come in single- and dual-knob versions with the stage measuring 2.45” W x 2.36” L x 1.18” H. Each stage offers nine ¼-20 tapped holes for equipment mounting and has a load capacity of 5kg (H) and 2kg (V) when locked. The tracks are 2.45” W x 0.4” H in 6-, 12-, and 24-inch travel lengths and have counter-bored mounting holes for ¼-20 socket head cap screws every 6 inches. Mounting screws and Allen wrenches for the tension and mounting screws are provided with the tracks and stages.
The stage and track provide precision positioning with straight-line accuracy ranging from 0.004-inches for the 6-inch track to 0.011-inches for the 24-inch track. Stages travel 0.71-inches for each turn of the knob. Tracks are marked with 0.10-inch graduations and offer Vernier scale reading to 0.01-inches. Stages and tracks are aluminum with black anodised coating.
