High Q Laser has introduced its latest generation of ultra-compact femtosecond and picosecond seed oscillators, the femtoTrain UC and picoTrain UC.
The femtoTrain UC offers femtosecond light pulses with a duration of <200fs at a repetition rate of 63MHz and an average power of more than 200mW. It is available at fixed centre wavelengths of 1,040, 1,053 and 1,060nm. The picosecond version picoTrain UC offers a pulse duration of 5 or 7ps, and is available based on Yb:Crystal, Yb:Glass or Nd:Glass with average powers greater than 500mW. The Train UC oscillators can be extended with harmonics modules for generation of visible and UV light.
The Train UC product line includes an ultrafast resonator and pump diode in one monolithic housing with a footprint of only 12 x 20cm (9.6cm height). No external pump laser is needed. A saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) assures passive and self-starting mode locking, offering a robust and stable system delivering near transform-limited light pulses. The pump diodes are operated with de-rated nominal pump current for long MTBF and are based on High Q Laser’s patented resonator folding technique, allowing them to withstand a 50-g shock test. The oscillators include industrial mirror mounts with zero degrees of freedom, optimised by finite element methods. A recirculation cooling circuit through the massive ground plate gives thermal stabilisation to the housing.
The ultrafast oscillators can be used for a wide range of applications such as seeding, multiphoton microscopy, THz generation, two-photon polymerisation (2PP), second/third harmonic microscopy, fluorescence lifetime imaging or spectroscopy.
