Laser Quantum has released its Finesse 10 laser, which has a proprietary cavity design which achieves a highly stable, ultra quiet CW output in a diffraction-limited beam (M2<1.1). The system is packaged in a very compact, robust package with integrated cooling mechanisms allowing for easy installation and integration into OEM systems. The Finesse 10 shares all features common to the Finesse series including a patented cavity, which is fibre fed from the pump diode, housed in the power supply. This removes the heat load from the head, enabling stable, low-noise, low spatial-mode operation.
Features include: typical power of 12W, a power stability of <0.5 per cent rms and noise <0.3 per cent rms.
Other features include power feedback, a physical shutter and a zero-stress cavity. The power supply features a large LCD screen, intuitive controls, an RS232 interface and RemoteCal technology allowing access to the system via a modem port.
The high power 532nm Finesse series has been well received into the photonics community and is a Ti:Sapphire pump source. The Finesse platform now offers powers ranging from 4W to >10W.
