PicoQuant has introduced an upgraded version of the multichannel picosecond event timer and Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting system (TCSPC), HydraHarp 400.
The new HydraHarp model is the first TCSPC system with a USB 3.0 PC-interface. It has a modular design and can be fitted with two, four, six or eight identical input channels and a common sync channel. The large number of input channels qualifies the instrument for advanced applications such as diffuse optical tomography, where data rates can be very high. Such applications greatly benefit from the new USB 3.0 interface as it improves data throughput as much as five fold.
