id Quantique has announced a reduced noise level for its id201 single photon detection module at NIR wavelength. The new ultra low noise detector (ULN) has a maximum noise level of 8 x 10-6/ns of gate for a single mode fibre input (SMF) and 1.5 x 10-5/ns of gate for a multimode fibre input (MMF).
The id201 benefits include: a certified photodiode that meets the most stringent reliability requirements (Telcordia GR-468-CORE); adjustable detection probability of up to 25 per cent; a large range of trigger options (up to 1MHz (internal) and 8MHz (external)); adjustable gate width from 2.5ns to 100ns; adjustable dead time up to 100ms; and unable delay between 0 and 25ns.
