ULIS has announced that it is about to scale up production of a large format 4th generation infrared detector, a product which has double the number of pixels of earlier IR models. This large-format high-resolution IR detector will allow OEMs and IR camera makers to reduce the size and weight optical systems by enabling them to design smaller cameras. The detector is designed to produce high-definition resolution in all-weather and night surveillance cameras, and in night-vision systems for drivers of military vehicles.
Over the past five years, ULIS has reduced the pixel pitch size of its IR products from 35 to 25µm, and now down to 17µm, progressively making its products more affordable for professional applications, such as conducting energy audits of buildings and plants.
