Lambda Research, a designer and publisher of illumination and optical design software, has released the latest version of its Solidworks add-in, RayViz. This tool enables design engineers working within the Solidworks CAD environment to apply and save optical properties, and trace and visualise rays. The current release of RayViz became available on 1 October.
RayViz adds ray-tracing functionality to Solidworks models to verify geometry and check for vignetting, crosstalk and stray light issues by visualising rays traced through optical components. Designers accelerate the product development process significantly without sacrificing performance or functionality due to RayViz’s easy-to-learn interface and minimum setup time. With RayViz, a complete optical model can be exported for use in TracePro (for ray-tracing and further optical analysis).
