Laser Components has introduced a new addition to its family of low cost laser modules. The LC-LMD-650-12 is a 650nm laser diode module available in either 1mW or 5mW options, and laser diode, drive electronics and optics are all housed in one small package. Maintaining compact size and affordability, this 10.5mm diameter module offers precise coaxial alignment; the output beam is aligned to the centre line of the device with a coaxial precision of <0.1°. The module also features an APC (auto power control) IC inside the unit. Operated from a 3V supply, this module finds a home in numerous areas of application, including industrial alignment, laser game hardware and portable sensing instrumentation.
