Laser Components has introduced its new LSC-035 driver circuit for laser diodes. The inexpensive unit was developed for n-type CW laser diodes with a maximum operating current of 300mA. The wide-ranging supply voltage of up to 15V allows the operation of blue, red, and NIR laser diodes. A protective circuit shields the laser diodes from damage resulting from ESD, high temperatures, and current peaks. It safely filters out the transient characteristics of the supply voltage.
In case of a malfunction, the circuit instantly inhibits the supply. Only by reconnecting the voltage will the circuit operate, providing time to fault diagnose and reducing possible damage. The stabilised output power remains constant with an excellent 1.5 per cent accuracy.
