Laser Components has extended InGaAs photodiode technology with the purely digital sensor known as the Major. The sensor can serve as the building blocks of intelligent networks on the path to fully automated industry.
The Major series are panchromatic detectors with sensitivity ranges from 450nm to more than 2,000nm and offer reduced temperature dependence of the photodiode. Data can be tagged with a time stamp to be used as evidence with the option of digital or analogue output. The sensors also have an internal storage capacity and calibration options.
The first in the series, the Major-A, has been designed for the application of laser manufacturing, manufacturing laser-based machine tools or NIR-based measurement. The sensor can also be applied to industries that need to monitor equipment.
