Elliot Scientific has introduced the MatchBox series of CW Micro Lasers, manufactured by Integrated Optics UAB, for applications in chemistry and biophotonics, in particular Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence imaging.
The series includes both DPSS and diode lasers with a range of output wavelengths - from 405nm to 1,342nm - with either free space or fibre coupled outputs.
The series has a small, robust and easy to integrate form factor, which is enabled by the monolithic design and semi-automated precision assembly process. The sealed, all-in-one laser head is powered by a low voltage DC supply and includes the optical components, drive electronics and thermal management within a single enclosure.
Integrated Optics UAB also offer the Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) or Surface Enhanced Fluorescence (SEF) ‘Randa’ substrate. In this substrate, the active SERS area is silver coated to enable it to work with a range of excitation wavelengths from blue to near infrared.
The clean room production environment eliminates the contamination risks associated with conventional SERS substrates, and are compatible with the use of a cover glass over the active SERS area, useful in Raman imaging and DNA sequencing applications.
