Modulight, based in Tampere, Finland and San Jose CA, has released the ML7710-PDT laser system platform tailored specifically for photodynamic therapy applications. It is equipped with all the required functionality for safety and usability in a clinical environment.
The standard features include an easy-to-use touch screen user interface, up to seven fibre output channels, aiming beam, smart internal calibration module, foot/hand switch, fibre sensors and safety interlocks. Modulight also offers optional customer specific services to support fast product launches, such as customised treatment flow, individual industrial designs, annual calibration and field services, and extended warranty.
ML7710-PDT supports all the common photosensitisers in the market from 630nm to 760nm and can be also configured as a multi-wavelength laser system. ML7710-PDT is designed and manufactured according to ISO 13485:2003 and the design complies with IEC 60601 and FDA CDRH 21CFR1040.10 requirements and regulations.
The system is a result of more than two years of design and manufacturing effort based on direct feedback from existing OEM customers and leading PDT experts in the field. ‘We believe that ML7710-PDT laser system will really help to remove some of barriers to get the PDT treatments widely accepted and new indications approved by offering a reliable and repeatable hardware solution to many clinicians,’ said Dr Petteri Uusimaa, president and CEO of Modulight.
The company guarantees repeatable wavelength accuracy, full life-cycle support from R&D to production, and a wide wavelength offering from a single platform.
