The Optical Society has announced that is is transforming its publishing enterprise with the launch of its redesigned content platform, OSA Publishing.
The new platform, which replaces OSA’s Optics InfoBase, incorporates the latest publishing technologies and web best practices and is intended to ensure that the optics and photonics community can easily and effectively search and discover content being published in the field.
OSA Publishing is aimed at providing readers with the ability to effortlessly navigate and discover the largest collection of peer-reviewed content in the field – more than 280,000 journal articles and conference proceedings.
The Optical Society says the platform also provides readers with new features including mobile-friendly layouts, the ability to refine content searches by date, publication and author and the opportunity to quickly access popular tools like citation alerts, cited-by information and article metrics.
'The Optical Society’s publishing division is committed to continually developing and delivering new innovative products and services that meet the changing needs of the optics and photonics community,' said Elizabeth Nolan, OSA’s deputy executive director and chief publishing officer.
'OSA Publishing delivers on this commitment by providing a state-of-the-art platform with significantly increased functionality and a more personalised user experience for everyone who explores our extensive corpus of content.'
