Laser Components partner PD-LD has developed what it describes as the world’s first VBG-stabilised 785nm single-mode laser diode.
In the near infrared spectral range, this is the first laser in a 5.6mm TO housing to which VBG (volume Bragg grating) technology was able to be applied successfully. The laser diode has two main features: a stable wavelength with a low bandwidth and a high optical output power.
With a spectral bandwidth of only 0.1nm, this laser exhibits an output power of up to 120mW, made possible by the combination of patented VBG technology and a monitor diode or an internal temperature sensor. These diodes are used in Raman spectroscopy, medical technology, and military applications.
