Ophir-Spiricon has released the PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector. The PE9-F is a pyroelectric detector that accurately and repeatably measures laser pulse energy over an extensive range of conditions.
The detector measures repetitive pulses at up to 25,000 pulses per second when used with the company's Pulsar-4 Multi-Channel USB Smart Head to PC Interface. The PE9-F measures each and every pulse, not just a sample.
The PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector has a wide dynamic range, capable of measuring from 300nJ to 1mJ. Calibrated spectrally for wavelengths from 190nm to 12um, the PE9-F works with all Ophir smart displays, including the Orion PE, Nova, Nova II, Vega, and LaserStar. Each display features a 'Smart Connector' interface that automatically configures and calibrates the display when plugged into one of the company’s measurement heads.
The PE9-F Pyroelectric Detector can do almost everything a standard thermal head can do, such as power measurement with repetitive pulses, single shot energy, and laser power tuning. The meter provides a wide range of information about the laser being tested, including pulse energy, average power, frequency, minimum and maximum values, missing pulses, time jitter, and standard deviation. Pulse energies can be displayed either numerically or in graphs. Up to 50,000 points of data can be stored on-board in nonvolatile memory and can be sent to a personal computer for storage and further analysis.
