Aculight Corporation has expanded its Perseus family of eye-safe, high-power, pulsed fibre lasers to include the Perseus-TS.
Perseus-TS provides users with the same high-performance output as other Perseus lasers, but has been optimised for integration into ladar systems.
Fibre lasers are desirable for applications such as ladar because their all-fibre design provides users with a more efficient, robust and compact source than traditional laser technologies. Aculight’s Perseus lasers also generate high-power, short pulses over a wide repetition rate range from a one-box, low-jitter source.
The Perseus-TS is available in two standard configurations, Models P33L-1541 and P36L-1541. Each produces 2 to 6ns pulses at repetition rates from 20kHz to 750kHz with 2W or 4W of average power, respectively. Maximum pulse energy is 60mJ; peak power is 20kW. The units’ 1.54mm output is less than 1.4 times the diffraction limit. Perseus-TS lasers measure just 2 x 6.3 x 5.5 inches and weigh fewer than five pounds. Custom configurations are also available.
