Picosecond pulsed diode lasers

PicoQuant has announced the extension of its range of picosecond pulsed diode lasers with two new laser heads emitting at 395nm and 420nm.

The two new laser heads can be used for porphyrin or phthalocyanin containing samples in fluorescence microscopy or fluorescence spectroscopy. With pulse durations as short as 70ps, they can be used with mainstream detectors but, Picoquant claims, at a price much lower than competing mode-locked lasers or nanosecond flashlamps. The two laser heads are also available in a dual mode version that allows picosecond pulsed as well as continuous-wave operation. With the addition of these two new types, more than 50 different laser heads operating at wavelengths between 375nm and 1990nm are now available.
