Laser Components has announced that its product portfolio now includes three different laser diodes with emission wavelengths of 520nm, from Osram Opto Semiconductors.
The small PL 520 monomode laser diode is an efficient laser source in both CW and pulsed operation. In CW operation, this green laser diode, which comes in a TO-38 ICut housing, has an output power of 50mW. It is suitable for use in cameras and head-up displays, as well as embedded solutions.
With the same characteristics as the PL 520, the PLT5 520 laser diode is contained in a larger TO-56 housing due to the integrated photodiode used for power control. Both versions feature a high modulation bandwidth.
One of the applications for the green PLP 520 multimode laser diode is laser projectors in home entertainment systems. The output power is 120mW and the compact TO-56 housing features improved thermal stability. This laser diode is perfect for applications that require high efficiency.
