Spectra-Physics has introduced its Quasar 355-45, a UV laser that delivers >45W (225µJ). The laser features TimeShift technology for pulse shaping and burst-mode operation as well as programmable pulse widths from <5ns to >100ns over repetition rates from 0 to 1MHz. It also has a factor of two improvement in repetition rate range and minimum pulse width over the recently introduced >40W Quasar 355-40.
Also available is the Quasar 532-75 model featuring >75W (375µJ) green output. The Quasar platform combines a fibre laser, power amplifier, and patented harmonics technologies. Using long-life components and UV manufacturing processes, Quasar has passed environmental qualification testing, and each laser in production is subjected to tests.
