Laser Components is now offering the SiTek range of two-dimensional position sensing detectors (PSDs), which give ±0.3 per cent typical non-linearity accuracy readings over areas up to 45 x 45mm. These detectors are also available with UV or YAG enhancement or as nuclear detectors. PSDs have the advantage of higher resolution and speed when compared to CMOS detectors and CCD devices. These SiTek devices have an edge over competition due to their built-in stray light elimination properties, which increase the speed and linearity and reduce erroneous readings. These devices used in conjunction with a PSD electronic evaluation board provide an easy to connect and easy to use system that is ready to be used as a stand-alone detector or to be incorporated into larger systems.
