Edmund Optics has launched its Techspec UV Fused Silica Rod Lenses, which are highly polished small diameter rods that provide excellent transmission from the UV into the NIR.
They are available in diameters ranging from 1mm to 5mm and in eight lengths from 2mm to 20mm.
EO's Fused Silica rod lenses are manufactured with precise diameters and surface quality. They are polished on the circumference and ground on both sides. When illuminated they act as a cylinder lens, focusing collimated light into a line. Fused Silica offers high transmission in the UV and through the NIR and low coefficient of thermal expansion making them ideal for use in demanding applications such as biomedical instrumentation, UV microscopy, laser scanning and more.
