The Hitachi Display Products Group has launched the 17-inch SXGA TX43D57VC0CAA and the 17-inch WXGA TX43D55VM0BAA, which bring the performance of IPS-Pro to industrial LCD displays.
IPS-Pro, part of Hitachi’s In-Plane Switching technology family, provides a stable colour image from any viewing angle. These new display products offer excellent colour saturation with very high contrast ratios. The black level of both displays combined with improved transmittance helps to provide contrast ratios of up to 1000:1. These characteristics also mean that high brightness can be achieved without increasing the power consumption of the backlight.
Both models are ideally suited for use in public information displays, medical diagnostic systems and monitoring applications. Security surveillance and traffic monitoring as well as video broadcast applications are also being explored.
The 17-inch SXGA TX43D57VC0CAA offers a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and brightness of 270cd/m². The display has outline dimensions of 368(w) x 306(h) x 19.8(d) and weighs in at 2200g.
The WXGA TX43D55VM0BAA has a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, with a contrast ratio of 800:1 and brightness of 370cd/m². Again weight is 2200g although the outline dimensions change to 400(w) x 258(h) x 22(d) in line with the widescreen profile.
The IPS-Pro technology used in both displays ensures viewing angles of 170° in both horizontal and vertical planes, without significant reduction in contrast. Both models feature a long-lifetime CCFL backlighting unit.
