Laser Components is distributing the UV Gain Flattening Filter from Omega Optical. In addition to the many filters on offer, this new filter is designed to help prevent the excessive system sensitivity in the red region (600nm-1000nm), commonly found with silicon-based detectors. The UV gain flattening filter is ideal for applications where a red-biased light source is used or the system predominantly works below 400nm; thus allowing for a near uniform spectrum to be achieved from the visible into the UV A, B and C regions.
The new filters are able to transmit almost 50 per cent of the prominent UV A, B and C regions while still achieving an average attenuation of OD5. Additionally, OD1 is observed at 220nm and 320nm; climbing to OD4 by just 450nm.
